It doesn’t matter too much, as long as you understand the principles of what combinate does. Skipped maths at school? Don’t worry about it too much, but don’t skip this section of Pigments! Read the manual and your head will be in bits trying to understand how combinate calculates the resulting LFO shapes.

Combinate is geeky overkill, but also an interesting source of experimental creativity The rise and fall options are also a nice touch, which allows shaping of the random waveforms.ġ0. The sample and hold generator is a traditional random generator, but Arturia have added some unusual features, such as the ability to change the impulse source and trigger source. The other is called turin, which can be completely random or locked into loops that repeat every cycle, which can be adjusted and flipped. One is called binary that works with one’s and zero’s, basically an on/off random generator. Randomisation doesn’t end there, by clicking on the random source tab you will have access to three random sources that can be routed to multiple destinations, making Pigments the ultimate random machine! As well as the classic sample and hold option (with added extras), Pigments has two extra mathematical random sources.

So we’ve already mentioned quite a few areas which you can randomise certain elements within Pigments, the ability to randomise some wavetable features, LFO’s, function shapes and sequencer/arp values. If you like using randomness in your music, you will love Pigments It was some undertaking but well worth it. You're most welcome, and I'm happy that I can share the compiled patches. Hey moneykube, I just came across this post today. thanks again for those !!!īack to the topic> the new features in pigments are an awesome addition to an awesome synth and this latest update to analog lab v works as well Perhaps it couldn't handle the MANY patches StephenHutchinson kindly compiled and shared for the SQ80 V. so I think it was the SQ80 V update, fixed in a later update that came shortly after. I had purchased the SQ80 V, and that was when I noticed all the 36 plugs had an update. Arturia said no other reason users had mentioned it,so the problem is a mystery to me.(Mac OS Catalina 10:15:7) I suspect some sort of coding issue was the culprit because I uninstalled it 3 times working with Arturia, and reinstalled it 3 times, to try to solve the issue that was "magically" fixed in the next update. In this update or the last update, analog lab was causing reason not to shut down and required a forced quit on my machine for some reason. They did this when they introduced SQ80 V as well. I think analog lab v was updated as well to accommodate the new version of pigments.
